Laux Brickhouse Grille: A Flavorful Destination in Bethalto, IL

this is me and my significant others second year in a row coming here to visit and the same girl worked here, Alexis is absolutely wonderful and has given us the best service every time we have visited, more than once each time we come! The jalapeño poppers are the best appetizer!

I was craving Onion Rings, all day. When I finally decided to venture out for dinner, I remembered LBG had Appetizers Half Price on Sundays. If I'm going to satisfy a craving, I might as well save some money doing it. Laux easily has the best Onion Rings in the RIverbend Area. They are HUGE and they are made is house. Best of all, they're cut thick, hand dipped and fried crispy. I've said it before, if you're there with a group, you've got to order these for your table. For my entree, I wanted to go healthy, so I choose the Shrimp Salad. WOW! It was my first time ordering it and I will be ordering it again and again. The salad was made with Romaine lettuce and had Parmesan Cheese, tomatoes, Bacon and Croutons. It was then topped with 6 large Grilled Shrimp and a House Made Habanero Ranch dressing. This salad was full of flavor and was very filling. The dressing does have a spicy kick to it. As always, the service was friendly and attentive. Sitting at the bar, the bartender still provided me with the type of service I'd expect at a table. A nice bonus sitting at the bar, they have hooks and outlets underneath. So you can hang your purse or coat and if needed, you can plug in and charge your social media devices.

Good food, good people. This place is always busy, but there's always a table. I ordered the Brickhouse Double. It was so big I only ate one patty. The Lauxarella sticks are the biggest, best mozzarella sticks you'll ever have. The mushrooms were nice and crispy. We had a great lunch.

We all enjoyed the Thursday night steak special with one side for $13.99. The steak had a good taste although somewhat tough. Our server was attentive and the food arrived quickly.

Room holds in the noise - will probably choose an outside seat the next time. We are on a Tuesday -taco night and $5 margaritas. Our margaritas were delicious and DIL thoroughly enjoyed her chicken tacos. I had the cheese steak sandwich with onion rings that was very good also. Only complaint was our chips and queso got delivered with the meal since the kitchen "lost our ticket". Good server.

Today's advertised special was a 10oz new york strip steak and baked potato for just $13.99 plus the option to add side salad for an extra two dollars. I didn't do that because the steak with potato was absolutely plenty. The service, food and environment were excellent. I'll for sure be returning again.

The outdoor patio looked inviting too, though we opted to sit inside this time. The menu features a variety of grilled specialties, and I went for the signature Brickhouse Burger. It was cooked to perfection—juicy, flavorful, with a perfect char that added a delightful smokiness. The fries alongside it were crispy and well-seasoned. My dining partner chose the Grilled Shrimp Tacos, which were fresh and zesty, though the portion size was a tad smaller than expected. Still, the quality shone through. They also offer a selection of craft beers that pair nicely with the grilled dishes. Prices feel fair for the quality and portion sizes, making it a great spot for a hearty meal without breaking the bank. The only slight hiccup was a brief delay in getting our drinks, but the staff was quick to apologize and made up for it with their excellent service. Overall, Laux Brickhouse Grille delivers a delightful dining experience with tasty food and a friendly atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back to try more of their menu!

I would have rated the food higher were it not for the lack of accompanying sides. A place said to be known for its fish, it could do with having malt vinegar available. Add to that that you can have any hot sauce you want, so long as you only want either red or green Tabasco. Me, I hate Tabasco. The fish was tasty with generous portions. Expect a huge serving of fries to show up. The person with us who got the Mac & cheese stated that it was the creamiest they have ever gotten at any food service. Our server was a delight. I was cold inside, so dress accordingly.
